Is this free e-sign website really free to use?
The core signing workflow — upload, invite, private URL, generated password, and signature placement — is free. There is no paid editor and no document-rewriting feature.
How do I request an e-signature?
Upload the PDF, enter the signee’s email, mark the signature boxes, then share the URL and the password the website generated for that document.
Who can open the uploaded PDF?
Only parties with the private URL and the generated password. Signing pages are excluded from search indexing.
Why is there a password as well as a URL?
A URL alone can leak in logs or screenshots. The generated password is a second factor you share with the invited signee.
Can invited parties upload their own signature?
Yes. They can draw a signature or upload a signature image, then apply it to the prescribed areas. They cannot move or add new edit tools.
Are e-signatures on a free e-sign website legally binding?
Electronic signatures can be valid in many places when there is intent, consent, and a record of the act. SignThatDoc provides a signing record, but it does not give legal advice. You are responsible for whether a signed PDF meets the rules that apply to your document.
What file types are accepted?
Standard PDF files. Encrypted or damaged PDFs may be rejected because they cannot be stamped safely.
